Laura started at Woodbury Animal Hospital as a kennel person in the Fall of 2005 while in college, and has stayed ever since. She attended Argosy University and graduated in 2006. She always knew she loved animals and fell in love with the Veterinary Field when she got her first dog Maddie, a sweet and mellow yellow lab. Laura runs all of our social media platforms and helps keep the hospital running smoothly taking on whatever role is needed. Laura has a young son who keeps her busy in her free time and a lovable Border Terrier named Aurora. She loves going to Taylor Swift concerts, traveling, and watching her son and nephews’ hockey games.

Kelsey graduated from Argosy University in 2010. After finishing her internship with Woodbury Animal Hospital, she was hired as a certified technician. Kelsey commutes from her farm in western Wisconsin. When not working, she and her husband can be found caring for their two children, dogs, and cattle. Kelsey enjoys hunting, hiking, foraging off the land, and making cheese with the help of their dairy cows Violet and Willow.

Veterinarian Technician

Alyssa grew up here in Woodbury where she currently also resides.  She went to school at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she received a major in Animal Science and a minor in Agricultural Studies.  She then took a break from school and has been working as a technician for the past several years.  She finally decided to go back to school for her tech certification and graduated from Northwood Technical College in the Spring of 2023 and passed her certification test in the Fall of 2023.  She has two dogs named Clyde and Nala. In addition, she has 3 guinea pigs, Peach, Truffles, and Hamlet, a blue tongue skink, an axolotl, and some fish.  She also enjoys working part-time at a local emergency clinic to keep up with emergency medicine.

Emily is our vet assistant who has been with us since 2019. Emily graduated from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls with her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. There, she ran collegiate track and cross country. In her free time, she enjoys leisure activities such as running, golfing, horseback riding, and caring for her highland cattle on their family farm. Her dogs Smokey and Rocky enjoy hiking, playing fetch, and helping her with the farm chores.

Ellie has been working with us as a veterinary assistant since 2020. She graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in neurobiology and is currently applying to veterinary school. Ellie grew up in eastern Wisconsin and still goes home to visit family on the weekends. Ellie spends her free time soaking up the sun, playing tennis, reading, working out, and rock climbing.

Rachael has been in the veterinary field since 2020. She started at Woodbury Animal Hospital in January 2022 as an assistant. Rachael moved here from Tennessee and has since made Minnesota home. She has a miniature schnauzer named Motley and recently added another miniature schnauzer to her family named Zephyr. She also has a bearded dragon named Trixie that loves bugs. In her free time, she loves to work out, read books, groom her dogs, walk dogs, and pet sit.

Braden graduated in 2022 from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls. He has hopes of going to Vet School in the coming years. In the meantime, he loves learning the field and improving his skills. Braden enjoys the outdoors and spends almost all his free time hunting and fishing. He lives in Hudson close by with his sweet shepherd Maggie.

Receptionist

Jean has been here as our favorite receptionist. She lives with her husband and a trio of sweet pups. She previously worked as a technician before taking a little break from the Veterinary Field, but her love of animals drew her back in. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband and two adult children, go hiking, dock diving with her one pup, and take her dogs to modeling shoots.

Julie has been living in Woodbury since 1996 and started as an intern at the Woodbury Animal Hospital in 1991. Julie received her technician degree from the Medical Institute of Minnesota. She lives with her husband and chocolate lab puppy “Amica”. Julie retired in 2022 but still does behind-the-scenes work here at Woodbury Animal Hospital. She enjoys spending time with her two kids and going to Wisconsin to their cabin.
